How to Verify an Email
Before clicking any link or downloading an attachment, confirm the following:
- Sender Address: Legitimate emails from American System come from addresses ending in
@americanssystem.us. Be wary of slight misspellings or additional characters. - Domain Links: Hover over links (without clicking) to verify they point to
https://americanssystem.usor a recognized subdomain. Look for the padlock icon in your browser. - Content Tone: We never use threatening language or demand immediate action under penalty. Our communications are professional, measured, and specific to your account activity.
- Attachments: We only send expected attachments related to your documented transactions or service requests. Unexpected attachments should be treated with caution.
How to Verify a Phone Call
If you receive an unsolicited call claiming to be from American System:
- Ask for the caller's name, department, and a callback number.
- Hang up and call our official line at (212) 555-0140 to verify the inquiry.
- Never provide one-time passcodes, PINs, or passwords over the phone unless you initiated the call to our verified number.
Common Red Flags
- Urgent threats to suspend your account or seize funds unless you act immediately;
- Requests to wire money, purchase gift cards, or send cryptocurrency;
- Links that do not match the displayed text when hovered;
- Grammar errors, unusual formatting, or generic greetings like "Dear Customer" instead of your name;
- Pressure to keep the communication secret from family or advisors.
Report Suspicious Activity
